Eli Drake and IMPACT Wrestling have parted ways.
IMPACT Wrestling put out an official statement, announcing that they have terminated their relationship with former World Champion Eli Drake.
Impact Wrestling announced today that it has terminated its relationship with Shaun Ricker, known as ‘Eli Drake’.
Drake's contract was set to expire on May 31. In a recent interview with The Wrestling Perspective, Drake said of his future, "It's time to start thinking about what options I have. Should I stay or should I go? We will find out. There are so many options out there. How can I best boost my brand awareness and how can I put more money in my pocket? It's a matter of figuring out what's going to work best for me long-term."
He has admitted to having "friendly conversations" with WWE, but clarified that an offer had never been made.
Drake was originally scheduled to face Tessa Blanchard at IMPACT United We Stand this past Thursday as part of WrestleMania week, but he pulled out of the bout, not wanting to participate in an intergender match. He remains a focal point on IMPACT television as part of a team with Eddie Edwards.
