AEW has crowned their inaugural TBS Champion.
On October 23, just over two weeks after the title was revealed, the TBS Championship Tournament kicked off with 12 women vying to hold the newly minted prize. After nearly three months, the tournament came to an end this evening, Dynamite’s first night on TBS, with Ruby Soho taking on Jade Cargill.
Ruby earned her spot in the finals by defeating Penelope Ford, Kris Statlander, and Nyla Rose. Jade’s path was more direct given her first-round bye, but victories over Red Velvet and Thunder Rosa brought her to the finals.
During the bout, Jade targeted Ruby's shoulder, limiting her striking ability. Ruby fought valiantly, even hitting a No Future kick for a two-count. Ultimately, Jade was able to hit an avalanche-Jaded for the pin and win. With that, Jade Cargill is the first-ever AEW TBS Champion.
