With the title vacant, a tournament will begin on the May 9 episode of NXT and conclude at NXT Battleground, where a new NXT Women's Champion will be crowned.

Hartwell reunited with Dexter Lumis, who carried her away. With the title vacated, a multitude of women hit the ring to participate in a show-closing brawl.

Hartwell won the NXT Women's Championship at NXT Stand & Deliver in a ladder match. She made two successful title defenses.
