The last of the group matches for the Interim NXT Cruiserweight Championship Tournament and Rhea Ripley's in-ring return is set for next week.
NXT announced that Drake Maverick will take on Kushida and El Hijo Del Fantasma will face Akira Tozawa with those two matches more than likely deciding who advances to the tournament finals.
Maverick is looking to remain alive in the title picture by beating Kushida in the last match of Group A. A win over Kushida essentially forces a three-way tie for first place where the head-to-head record between Jake Atlas, Kushida and Maverick would 1-1 against each other.
In the other tournament match, Fantasma and Tozawa will also look to advance to the tournament finals. After Isaiah "Swerve" Scott lost to Jack Gallagher, the match between Fantasma and Tozawa would result in the winner advancing to the finals as the Group B winner.

In addition, Ripley will face Io Shirai in Ripley's first match since she dropped the NXT Women's Championship to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 36. Ripley made her presence known in the middle of Shirai's title challenge against Flair last week, resulting in Flair retaining her title.
