The story of how Isla got into wrestling.
The 24-year old Scotland native Isla Dawn has competed for various promotions in her home-country of Scotland and in the United States. Dawn has now taken her talents to WWE as she competed on day one of the 2018 WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament two-day special at Royal Albert Hall and she is a part of the newly established NXT U.K. brand which is set to crown its first ever Women's Champion. Isla Dawn has also been confirmed for this year's Mae Young Classic tournament which begins its tapings at Full Sail next week.
Dawn began her career in the sport of pro wrestling five years ago and it wasn't until she was discovered by a fellow Scotland native that she gained interest in the sport. SAnitY member and former NXT Tag Team Champion Killian Dain was the individual who scouted Isla Dawn and during a recent interview with The Scottish Sun, Dawn told the story of how the "Beast From Belfast" brought the industry to her attention.
“I was trained by Killian Dain who is in WWE now. He got me into wrestling in a weird way." Dawn said. "I was acting and he scouted me. He thought I’d be good. I did kick-boxing and dancing so he said I could transfer my skills. During Cementville, he visited to make sure we were doing things properly. We bonded straight away and as soon as I fell into wrestling, I realized it was the perfect job for me. It had everything — showmanship, physicality, competition. It combined everything I’d done previously. It’s been a funny ride but an amazing one.”
