Jack Swagger's debut is set.

Appearing on Ariel Helwani's MMA Show, Jack Swagger (aka Jake Hager) announced that he will be making his MMA debut against JW Kiser at Bellator 214 on Jan. 26. Swagger signed with Bellator in November 2017.

Swagger told Helwani, "I think my career will be a lot longer than most people imagine in mixed martial arts."

If all goes well for Swagger, he may be able to use the name Jack Swagger in his debut. He told Helwani that he was waiting on "legal filings" to be done.

He also stated that he has "nothing to prove" and that he's fighting for himself and his family. As far as advice goes, Swagger noted that he's talked with Bobby Lashley and King Mo as he prepares to make the transition from pro wrestling to MMA fighter. Lashley had a success career in MMA, amassing a 15-2 record while also competing for TNA/IMPACT Wrestling.

Swagger, 36, has never fought professionally, but was a NCAA Division I All-American in 2006 during his time at Oklahoma. He holds the Oklahoma single-season record for most pins in the 285 pound weight class.

Kiser is 1-1 in his professional career and 11-8 as an amateur. He recently defeated Michael Edwards at KC Fighting Alliance 31.

Bellator 214 is scheduled for Jan. 26 from the Forum in Los Angeles, CA.
