Jacy Jayne Beats Gigi Dolin, Fyre And Dawn Retain, Von Wagner Has A Secret | NXT Fight Size

Here's your Fight Size update following WWE NXT on May 2, 2023.

- Gigi Dolin battled Jacy Jayne in a heated grudge match. Dolin’s brother was in the crowd. Jayne slammed Dolin into exposed steel and pinned her. She then attacked Dolin after the bell.

- Raw’s Kayden Carter and Katana Chance challenged SmackDown’s Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship. Dawn and Fyre retained the gold, so they will seemingly bring the titles to WWE SmackDown.

- Backstage, Von Wagner showed Mr. Stone pictures of his dad wrestling for the WWF. Baby pictures of Wagner were also in the photo album. Wagner refused to open up when Stone asked him about the picture.

- Wes Lee defended the NXT North American Championship against Drew Gulak. Tyler Bate accompanied Lee to the ring while Gulak had Charlie Dempsey in his corner. Dempsey distracted Lee early on and helped Gulak take control. In the end, Bate took out Dempsey, and Lee pinned Gulak for the win. Bate looked at the title as he raised Lee’s arm.

- NXT Women’s Champion Indi Hartwell came to the ring, and she was on crutches. She looked back on her journey in NXT. Hartwell noted that she suffered a high ankle sprain during her title match at “NXT Spring Breakin’”. She brought up getting drafted to WWE Raw. Hartwell relinquished the title and announced that there will be a tournament to crown a new championship, and it will culminate at NXT Battleground. Hartwell then left then ring, and Dexter Lumis carried her to the back. Tiffany Stratton, Cora Jade, and other members of the women’s division brawled as NXT came to a close.

- Dani Palmer made her NXT in-ring debut in a singles match against Tatum Paxley, and the NXT newcomer scored the win.

- Trick Williams provided an update on NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes and noted that Bron Breakker put him in the hospital. He looks back on going to the same high school as Hayes, and he highlights the strength of their bond. Breaker interrupted and made it clear he intends to humiliate Hayes at NXT Battleground. Williams told Breakker he wanted to handle things like men. Williams challenged him to a match, but Breakker said they would do it next week.

- Brooks Jensen made up with Josh Briggs and Fallon Henley. Jensen noted that he learned a lot from Kiana James and encouraged Henley to do some things that would help the bar.

- Axiom clashed with SCRYPTS, and the fan-favorite scored the win. He approached SCRYPTS after the bell. SCRYPTS attacked him, and Axiom gained the upper hand. He then unmasked SCRYPTS and exposed his true identity as Reggie.

- Dragon Lee took on JD McDonagh. Noam Dar appeared at ringside and distracted Lee. The two stars went back and forth in a competitive match. Dar distracted Lee in the losing moments, and McDonagh capitalized, as he pinned Lee for the win. Lee took the fight to Dar after the bell.

- A video package recapped the string of mysterious attacks in recent weeks.

- Joe Gacy faced Mark Coffey in a high-stakes match. With a win, Gacy would earn he Dyad a tag team title shot. But with a loss, The Dyad would never again be able to challenge Gallus for the gold. The Dyad (Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler) got involved, and The Gallus chased them around ringside. Ava took advantage of the situation and distracted Coffey. Gacy then pinned him to win the match, so The Dyad earned a shot at the gold.

- Eddy Thorpe was wrapping up some training, and Damon Kemp told him to throw his trash away. Kemp said it was a joke to think Thorpe could hang with him in the ring.

- Duke Hudson took over class at Chase University when Andre Chase was unable to be there Hudson noted that there would be no more pop quizzes.

- In the dreaded NXT parking lot, Apollo Crews praised Trick Williams and told him to not let his talent go to waste.

- Dijak sent a message to Ilja Dragunov ahead of their match on the May 9 episode.
