Jai Vidal says he studies Shawn Michael's WrestleMania match with Kurt Angle at least once a month.
Vidal recently signed with IMPACT Wrestling, and he has been appearing as Shaw's content creator and executive stylist on IMPACT programming in recent weeks. Outside of IMPACT, he has also competed for Coastal Championship Wrestling, Future Stars of Wrestling, and GCW, among other promotions.
Speaking on Good Karma Wrestling, Vidal was asked about his wrestling influences when he was growing up. He named Shawn Michaels as one and stated that he still studies his matches to this day. Vidal also pointed to Jeff Hardy as another influence and cited the way "The Charismatic Enigma" connects with the crowd as something that stood out to him. Vidal also briefly brought up Eddie Guerrero.
"I think that the number one is Shawn Michaels. Shawn Michaels, to me growing up, [he] was the best. I go back and I constantly study his matches. I love his matches from the 90s, but I love his matches even more from 2002 and beyond because he [delivered] the very best matches possible to show to why he’s the best. I’ll watch him versus Kurt Angle at least once a month. That to me is one of my favorites, for sure. Of course, growing up a kind of weird kid, I loved Jeff Hardy, the way that he would be charismatic and connect with the crowd. Of course, there will never be another professional wrestler like Eddie Guerrero to me," Vidal said.
Vidal recently discussed being the first openly gay male to sign with IMPACT. Check out his comments here.
