Jake "The Snake" Roberts Feels That Wrestlers Do Not Need Championships To Be Over With The Fans

Jake gives his take on title belts in wrestling.

WWE Hall Of Famer Jake "The Snake" Roberts captured a plethora of titles throughout his professional wrestling career such as the NWA National Television Championship, the SMW Heavyweight Title and Mid-South Television Title. Before Roberts got to the WWF, he had a number of championship accolades attached to his name but throughout his tenure in the sports-entertainment company Roberts did not win one title.

The topic of winning titles came up while Roberts spoke with SportsKeeda's Lee Walker and Walker mentioned that Tatanka stated during an interview that he did not need a championship to be over with the fans and Roberts agreed and added his own take to the discussion.

"Absolutely man, absolutely." Roberts agreed. "That's the reason they have titles man. That's why they got so damn many of them because they're trying to get guys over. When you're dealing with children, 'He's the champ.' It means something special, but if you've got to that point to where you're recognized, and you are, then dude just go do your job, C'mon man." He continued, "Let's be honest, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels are the only two guys who thought they won the title anyway. Everyone else knows different so we'll leave it at that man. No disrespect to them. They both worked their butts off and truly loved the business, but it's a business, and Jake The Snake didn't need it."
