A former WWE talent who made a dangerous threat on social media now says that was a joke.
Former WWE impressionist Jason Sensation set off alarms prior to Monday Night Raw. On social media, Sensation claimed he had snuck a gun through security and would shoot himself on Raw. Fightful.com can confirm that police have been informed and are searching the stands.
His Twitter account has been suspended, and Fightful has learned from several readers that Vince Russo contacted Jason Sensation. Jason said that he was at home safe, and the tweet was intended to be a joke.
Several wrestlers and fans at the arena contacted Fightful.com about the situation, confused. One wrestler, who requested anonymity, says that this is unfortunately in line with Sensation's behavior over the last decade or so.
Toronto police have told Fightful.com that they took the threats seriously, but quickly determined that Sensation was not in the arena. They also issued the following statement on Twitter.
Sensation is best known for his Owen Hart impression during a skit where D-Generation X parodied the Nation of Domination in 1998. His Twitter bio stated that he has battled depression.
Raw is currently live from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
