JBL: Trick Williams Appearing At TNA Rebellion Sets The Stage For TNA Slammiversary. Use The Power Of NXT To Promote The Show

JBL believes that the angle between TNA Wrestling and Joe Hendry can take TNA Wrestling through its upcoming TNA Slammiversary event taking place at the UBS Arena on Long Island, New York, on July 20.

Trick Williams ended the TNA Rebellion event by attacking Joe Hendry, the current TNA Wrestling World Champion. This stems from Hendry appearing on the April 22 episode of WWE NXT, overshadowing Williams in an attempt to square up to current NXT Champion Oba Femi.

John Bradshaw Layfield, who has appeared in recent months on TNA programming and WWE programming, weighed in on the current story between Williams and Hendry during the latest Something to Wrestle podcast. JBL stated that he believes this is an angle that will potentially carry TNA programming through the Slammiversary event in New York on July 20.

"It makes sense to me. You've got to have something for the UBS show coming up. They're going to have another big arena show, and you can use the power of NXT and Trick Williams, who has a big following, but more specifically, the power of NXT to promote this show. I bet we'll see some more crossover, because that's a big deal to go up there to the UBS Arena up in New York and want to put a ton of people in that building. I thought this made perfect sense for that."
