Jeff Hardy has never been your run-of-the-mill wrestling personality. You could even say that he goes out of his way to be the opposite. Sometimes, that concerns fans as it did a couple of weeks ago in Ohio.
After a match, Hardy began destroying several items, and pointed to the sky while holding a cardboard cutout of El Dandy, who is still very much alive. Complex spoke to Jeff Hardy about the unusual situation.
“I finished the match with a [frustrated] breakdown where I’m trying to break a ladder, break tables… Many people hadn’t seen that, so naturally people are wondering ‘what the Hell is wrong with Jeff Hardy? Oh my God, he’s off the wagon!’ And this-and-that. It was nothing like that," said Hardy.
Hardy admitted that he thought the cutout was an old picture of WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero. Someone claimed it was Arnold Schwarzeneger, which Hardy vehemently denied.
“It was a [Mexican Wrestler] El Dandy cutout and I thought it was Eddie Guerrero and I feel so stupid now. Just knowing [Guerrero] back in the day…real tight, real good friends. Plus, my eyesight’s going. Somebody said something about it being Arnold Schwarzenegger, and I thought, if that was Arnold, I need to go to the hospital right now, holy s–t!," said Hardy.
Jeff mentioned that he's been experiencing pain since the incident, having a tough time turning his head. He did clarify that his doctor said that there's no major damage and he's 'pretty much normal.'
