Jeff Jarrett survives.
During Sunday night's WWE Royal Rumble match, the former NWA and WCW Champion Jarrett wrestled in his first WWE match since 1999 when he made a surprise appearance as the number two entrant. 8 months after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. He's not done there, either.
1Wrestling.com reports that Jeff Jarrett is in Phoenix and will work as a Producer in WWE, joining new recruits Shane Helms and Sonjay Dutt, who are also in town. WWE has been promoting a lot of people from within the company and hiring outside help ahead of the Smackdown Fox launch.
Jarrett was on the outs with WWE for two decades after leaving for WCW in 1999 and demanding royalty pay up front. After WCW closed, Jarrett would start NWA:TNA Wrestling, where he'd be integral both on-screen as a wrestler as well as behind the scenes. Jarrett launched Global Force Wrestling in 2015, but couldn't land a television distributor and briefly rejoined TNA (then Impact Wrestling) in 2017.
PWInsider says that in addition to assuming a role behind the scenes, Jarrett will appear as an on-screen talent, although the role itself wasn't defined.
