Jeff Jarrett believes that Christopher Daniels deserves a better send-off.
Christopher Daniels likely finished up his in-ring career on the January 18 edition of AEW Collision, competing and losing to 'Hangman' Adam Page in a Texas Deathmatch. Fightful Select reported that Daniels has been looking to retire and have his final match for quite some time.
This news came as a shock to Jeff Jarrett, who believes that Daniels deserved a big send-off due to his contributions to the business. On the latest edition of his My World podcast, Jarrett spoke about his take.
“I got the text and I’ll leave it nameless because that would be exposing somebody. It said, ‘Hey, did you know that was Chris’ last match?’ I text, ‘Why? Does it have to be?’ That caught me off guard. If Chris, if this is his decision and if this is Chris’s call, cool, but man, do you know how many people that get into this business today or have over the last [30 years]? Not many people get to have the career of a Christopher Daniels. If this really is calling it a career, I’d certainly — I think the business, I’m gonna tell Chris this, I think the business deserves maybe a strong word. If he’s done, my god, look what he’s done — let’s give him a little bit better send off. I’m not saying go out to California and rent a venue and you know, Chris Daniels last match, I’m not saying all that, but I’m just saying, hey man, let’s kind of give him a send off because to me, TNA day one [guy] in a lot of ways. I know Ring Of Honor as well, but the independent grind that Chris put himself through is very respectful and then AEW. I’d like to see Chris have a better send off it he would so accept. That’s truly how I feel.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Jarrett spoke about Dusty Rhodes bringing Monty Brown's world title push to an end in TNA. Check out his full comments on the matter by clicking here.
