During the early days of AEW in 2019, Jenn Sterger was part of the broadcast team as an interviewer.
Though Sterger's time in the company didn't last long as they cycled through various backstage interviews in 2019, Sterger worked with some of the top names including Chris Jericho and MJF.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, who also worked with AEW during the early days of AEW Dynamite, Sterger recalled her time in AEW.
"I had such good chemistry with a lot of the cast and they knew they could be funny with me or engaging. I remember, I gave, I think it was Scorpio Sky a funny one-liner, 'you should add that in there.' He was cutting a promo and it was very Rock-ish, a very Rock-type promo. I was like, 'you should add this line in there and then Frankie (Kazarian) should react to you saying that line.' It had a little entendre to it. I watch that clip back all the time and am like, 'that was so sweet,'" she said.
When CVV noted that MJF had fun with Sterger, she said, "Yeah, probably too much fun, before we had an HR department [laughs]. I respect that man so much for his skills on the mic. He's beyond his years good. It's going to be really cool to watch and see what comes from him."
She continued, "Him and Jericho were always a gift to work with. Jericho, you could come up to him and be like, 'here is the plan.' He'd be like, 'yeah, I like that plan,' and all of a sudden he'd get a wild hair and you'd just roll with it. Whatever he came up with was going to be even more brilliant than whatever you discussed in rehearsal."
Sterger left AEW in September 2020.
