Jerry Lawler Still Searching For Answers In The Death Of His Son Brian Lawler

Jerry Lawler still hasn't gotten the answers he's looking for regarding the death of his son Brian Lawler.

Brian Lawler, better known to wrestling fans as Brian Christopher, passed away on July 29 after an apparent suicide attempt inside Hardeman County jail. Jerry has questioned the circumstances surrounding his son's death from the start, believing that Brian did not commit suicide as reported.

Lawler has continued to investigate the death of his son since late July, but has been unable to gain traction.

Talking to Local 24 News in Memphis, Lawler said, "Up until this time, we haven't been able to get any answers from anybody. That's the thing that's so frustrating. You sit around hoping the phone is going to ring anytime and any day you'll hear some kind of information, something positive. It's just a slow process,"

Jerry previously stated that he spoke with Brian the morning before Brian passed away and he seemed fine. A few hours after Jerry spoke to Brian, Jerry's wife Lauryn received a call from the jail and was told that Brian was involved in a fight but it was not serious. The King added that witnesses said Brian was bleeding from the head but was not given the medical attention that he asked for. A few hours later the call came in that Brian hung himself.

Another portion of this case that makes Jerry question how his son died was that the Sheriff told Lawler's fiancee that Brian used shoestrings to hang himself, but in the photos taken of Brian in the hospital, the photos showed marks on the side of Brian's neck but not on the front.

"In the words of my attorney, there's so much smoke that has come out of that Bolivar jail that there's got to be a fire somewhere. And, you're right, if we can help unearth that, then maybe things will change, and it'll be better for some people down the line," said Lawler.

Fightful will continue to update the situation when more information is known.
