Jey Uso is staying positive.
On the May 6 episode of WWE Raw, Jey Uso beat Finn Balor to advance to the next round of the King of the Ring tournament. He replaced Drew McIntyre, who was not cleared to compete. Uso will face Ilja Dragunov in the next round.
In a Raw Exclusive, Jey Uso was asked to describe what winning the King of the Ring tournament would mean to him.
“Man, a King of the Ring win would mean anything right now. I be coming up short a bunch of the times, but it’s all good. Face adversity, you gotta keep your foot on the gas pedal to keep it running. I’m gonna stay positive with it. I came up short every championship round, trying to get my first singles championship in 2024. I ain’t do it yet, but it’s okay though. I need this King of the Ring win under my belt just to get the ball rolling a little bit," Jey Uso said.
Uso also commented on the way the fans showed their support for him at WWE Backlash France. He made it clear that seeing Bray Wyatt's fireflies during his entrance made him emotional, and it touched him.
“It was dope, though. Seeing all the fireflies came out, I got real emotional. Ain’t had much [time] to talk about it. But a lot of people were asking me what it was from my point of view. I just felt like Bray Wyatt was showing love to me. That’s the first time I’ve seen the fireflies appear, I feel like, since he’s been gone. So I was really emotional seeing all of that. For that to happen to me, I was blessed with that," Uso said.
