Jey Uso: Kids Told Us, ‘Your Dad Sucks’ After Rikishi Ran Over Steve Austin, We Were Boxing Every Day

Jey Uso reflects on the storyline in which his dad, Rikishi, was revealed as the person who ran over "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in 1999.

"I did it for the people. I did it for The Rock." That is what Rikishi said in 2000 when it was revealed that he was the individual who ran over "Stone Cold" Steve Austin at WWE Survivor Series 1999. While in character, he was claiming to have done all of it for his family member, The Rock, in the real world, his kids dealt with the repercussions of their father being the man who took Austin away from WWE in the nefarious hit-and-run.

Speaking on No Contest Wrestling, Jey Uso revealed that at that time in their lives, every day there would be another confrontation from a young Steve Austin fan who told him that his dad sucked because of what he did.

"When my dad ran over Stone Cold, I was like 11-13. We were boxing every day because kids were like, ‘Your dad sucks. Your dad ran over Stone Cold.’ We were about that. The only that protected us is we were hella good at football, so they kind of didn’t mess with us," he said.

During WrestleMania 41 Saturday, Uso will be in the biggest match of his life as he defends his family's honor when he faces Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. If Gunther's own words are to be believed, it will be very aggressive, as the champion plans to make Uso feel like a hit-and-run victim.
