Since October 2022, Booker T has worked as the color commentator on WWE NXT. Booker had been on commentary in the past on WWE SmackDown, and worked kickoff shows for WWE PLEs.
Jim Ross is among those who enjoy the commentary stylings of the former World Champion.
"Do you ever listen to Booker’s commentary on NXT? He’s funnier than hell," Ross said on Grilling JR. "‘Shucky ducky quack quack.’ He’s one of the best [guys in wrestling], and a good dude. I was the guy that encouraged him to tell his story, his story about going to prison and rehabilitating himself, getting out of prison, making his way in the indies with his brother, Stevie Ray. Booker, his story’s great, and I’m proud of him. He’s got a wonderful family and he’s got a good business building there at this school and his promotion. So he’s made the transition very well. Booker T’s a great example of how a wrestler can redesign or relaunch their own career because that’s what he did, and he’s successful at it. Now, he’s got a regular gig, he’s on TV every week, and he’s funnier than hell. If you listen closely to his commentary, it’s very entertaining. I’d love to work with Booker T someday. I think we’d have a blast."
Ross is currently signed to AEW, where he provides commentary for main event matches on AEW pay-per-views.
