Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, AEW broadcaster Jim Ross discussed the upcoming match. He called Strickland possibly the most underrated world champion in wrestling right now. Ross went on to say that he thought it was not the time to take the title off of Strickland.

"I believe that Swerve is maybe the most underrated world champion in the entire business right now. I might be overstating that. We’ll find out [at AEW All In]. The career versus the championship is a hell of a stipulation, so it’ll be a great story to tell. It’ll be physical, these guys will beat the shit out of each other, and it’s a match you can’t call from the outside. Does Bryan Danielson lose and retire? Does Swerve lose and become a former champion? Seems like that’s most people’s thought. I don’t think it’s time to take the title off Swerve, personally. He’s just starting to get over, and he’s a good champion," Ross said.

Ross later looked forward to the title match and noted that he thought it could be a Match of the Year contender. He also stated that he expected it to be a masterpiece, and he predicted that the bout would be a key moment in both of their careers.

"I think this is going to be a hell of a story that we’re gonna tell. I can see this being the Match of the Year for many promotions because both guys are smart, they’re cerebral, they know what their in-ring skill sets, what the limits are, if there are any, so I’m excited about being able to call this match. It should be a classic, and there’s nothing on the card that could follow it, nothing, so it’s gonna go last, I’m sure. I can’t imagine anything else going on last. As we look back over the years, I think we’re gonna say that this match was one of the crowning moments for both these guys’ careers for different reasons, but it was all important for both of them to perform at the highest level that they humanly possibly can. It should be an absolute masterpiece," Ross said.

Strickland recently responded to Bryan Danielson saying that his daughter wanted him to lose at AEW All In. Check out his comments here.
