Jim Ross Now Responds With Humor To Social Media Criticism After Previously Lashing Out

Jim Ross is no stranger to online criticism. The long-time announcer has been the target of many attacks via Twitter in the past stemming from his commentary. Many have taken issue with Ross' commentary on AEW Dynamite as he consistently calls the wrong move or name.

But despite the criticisms thrown his way, Ross has gotten better at dealing with those who come at him through a keyboard.

WWE ID Prospect Revealed At Freelance Wrestling

"I'm handling it better now than I have previously," Ross said on the Sports Media with Richard Deitsch podcast. "I'm not really proud how I've handled it at some points in time. If I respond now to a critic, I generally will respond with humor. Or an attempt at humor. Not demeaning them, but trying to come up with some funny line to break the ice. What are we really talking about? A pro wrestling announcer who may have called a 'tope suicida' something else. Okay. Does that mean I need to turn in my Hall of Fame ring and sit in the corner for a semester? I am better now because I have a different philosophy about it. In the past, I've lashed back because sometimes things get too personal. When someone tweets you and says, 'I hope you get another fucking stroke.' Why would you wish anyone that you hope they have a stroke? Here's what pissed me off about that; these idiots don't realize that in their 'love of wrestling' it's a love of themselves and being noticed. I just block them. I'm human. I got feelings. When you get personal, I don't want to respond to those. I used to and it got me nowhere."

Ross recently revealed on social media that he had a run-in with a set of knives gifted to him by his daughter.

Fortunately, Ross came away from the incident with no major injuries.

Elsewhere during the podcast, Ross revealed he pushed for Tony Schiavone to join the AEW commentary booth. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
