Jim Ross says it was classy for WWE to acknowledge Sting's final match at AEW Revolution last weekend.
At AEW Revolution, Sting competed in his final wrestling match as he teamed with Darby Allin to successfully defend the AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Young Bucks in the pay-per-view's main event. On the March 4th edition of Monday Night RAW, Michael Cole and Pat McAfee both commented on Sting's retirement, wishing him the best.
Speaking on a recent episode of Grilling Jr, Jim Ross praised the 'classy' move from WWE to acknowledge Sting's retirement.
"It was classy. Anyway you look at it, it was classy. I really appreciate the hospitality and professionalism that those guys at WWE showed our event. It meant a lot to me, personally, just as an old school guy, because WWE didn’t have to do that. I’m very happy that they did. It worked out really well. It felt good, felt right. Sting is so well loved and it was deserved. It needed to be said. Cole and Pat McAfee did a good job of signaling that out."
While Sting is now finished as an active competitor inside the ring, he has not ruled out possibly taking on a behind the scenes role within All Elite Wrestling. You can read more about that here.
