Joe Hendry praises Kenny King.
King has been wrestling for over two decades, and he remains a featured part of the IMPACT Wrestling roster. He had a successful run in Ring of Honor, where he held the ROH World Television Championship and the ROH World Tag Team Championship. He is also a former TNA X-Division Champion, and he will aim to win more gold when he challenges Joe Hendry for the IMPACT Digital Media Championship on the Countdown to Slammiversary.
Speaking with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald, Hendry shared his thoughts ahead of IMPACT Slammiversary. He noted that the card is stacked, and it will be a showcase of the company's roster.
“It’s a show for us. This is gonna be a showcase for what we do. The card is absolutely stacked from top to bottom. The fact that you have myself and Kenny King on the Countdown to Slammiversary shows you how stacked this show is gonna be. So you’re gonna have to tune in before Slammiversary to see what happens when Joe Hendry faces Stripper Kenny. It’s a huge honor and privilege to be the IMPACT Wrestling Digital Media Champion going into this event. It’s quite surreal for me, actually. I’ve been watching IMPACT Wrestling since 2002, 2003, so to be a part of this event is a huge deal for me," Hendry said.
Hendry then highlighted his opponent at the pay-per-view, Kenny King, and called him one of the most underrated professional wrestlers in the world today. He shared his belief that King is one of the best wrestlers on the planet.
"We gotta be honest, Kenny King is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated professional wrestlers in the world today. His professionalism and consistency over such a long period of time is very overlooked and underrated in my view. I think Kenny King is one of the best wrestlers in the world, and I am one of the best entertainers in the world, so this is gonna be a very exciting contest," he said.
