Joe Hendry has a fool-proof plan to become TNA World Champion: Invite Stone Cold Steve Austin and make sure he's ready to crack someone over the head with a steel chair.
Steve Austin arguably got the biggest pop of his career during someone else's WWE Championship win. When he came out on the January 4, 1999 episode of WWE Raw and hit The Rock with a steel chair, helping Mick Foley win his first WWE Title, the fans in the arena went ballistic. Naturally, when Joe Hendry asked Mick Foley for advice on how to become World Champion at TNA Bound For Glory, "The Hardcore Legend" suggested making sure "The Texas Rattlesnake" was available to assist at a moment's notice.
Joe Hendry spoke with TheOneMonaa about getting this advice and officially invited Steve Austin to be in his corner. He also extended another offer to Eminem to be right beside Austin in his corner.
"So for context, I asked Mick Foley, 'Have you got any advice for becoming TNA World Champion?' He says, 'All you have to do is just make sure you've got Steve Austin standing by to crack someone with a chair. I was like, Mick, that's all I had to do?! Why did no one tell me? So, you know, I've already invited Eminem down to the show. I've been calling out John Cena for about a year. I've said I want a confrontation with The Rock. We might as well add Steve Austin.
"Steve, if you're watching and you have some way to get to Detroit to help me out here. Hopefully, Eminem is going to be in my corner. But if you've got Eminem on one side and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin on the other, then I don't think we need to worry about Frankie Kazarian too much."
Mick Foley has previously won the TNA World Title, but he owes that victory to his ability to climb out of a steel cage at TNA Lockdown 2009.
