TNA star Joe Hendry previously competed in a battle royal on the June 18 episode of WWE NXT. After he was quickly eliminated, he confronted Shawn Michaels backstage and teased that he could appear at any time and any show.
Hendry did not appear in person at WWE NXT Heatwave, but at the end of the show, he briefly popped up on-screen, as part of his entrance video played.

Hendry's appearance on NXT came amid the ongoing collaboration between NXT and TNA, as stars from the two shows have crossed over. Jordynne Grace challenged Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women's Championship at NXT Battleground, and Tatum Paxley faced Grace at TNA Against All Odds, among other examples.

As of this writing, there is no word on when Joe Hendry will return to NXT. Fightful will provide more information as it becomes available.
