Joey Janela Is Coming Back From Injury Two Months Early For Sabu Match, Says Doctors Have Recommend Against It

Joey Janela is coming back early from injury.

In February, Joey Janela underwent surgery on his arm, signaling to many fans that his match with Sabu at Spring Break 9 would be canceled. In the days after his surgery, Janela even put doubt on the match, saying that it felt unlikely at that point.

Fast forward two months and the match is still happening. Janela hopes that his bicep will hold up, even if he is coming back two months early against his doctor's wishes.

“I guess okay." Janela said when asked how he was feeling in a new interview with MuscleManMalcolm. "We won’t know until I get in the ring. I haven’t been in a ring in a few months, so we’re just playing it by ear, you know? Paint by numbers, we’ll see if the bicep holds up. I mean, I’m coming back two months early. Doctors don’t recommend I get in there, but they know I was going to do it no matter what they say because I needed to do it. Coming back two months early and stuff, I feel as good as I’m going to feel. I don’t know what percentage I would give my health, but we’ll see I guess.”

Janela last wrestled on February 15, 2025, competing against Atticus Cogar in a Jersey J-Cup tournament match.
