John Bradshaw Layfield reflects on the life of Eddie Guerrero, and talks about how influential Eddie was in front of and behind the camera.
JBL and Eddie Guerrero worked a program in 2004 that catapulted Bradshaw from a long-standing tag team wrestling veteran to a top heel in WWE. Despite the animosity in front of the camera, Bradshaw and Guerrero were close behind the scenes.
Speaking on the most recent episode of Something to Wrestle, Bradshaw expressed his regret that Eddie Guerrero is not currently living today to be part of the modern wrestling scene. He also reflected on just how much Guerrero meant as an inspiration to many wrestlers.
"What a good guy. People ask me all the time, ‘What do I regret most in life?’ [Laughs] When you make as many mistakes as I do, you probably should regret a lot. But the thing I regret the most is that Eddie Guerrero is not here. I wish Eddie were here now so that he could be on the show with us, so I could sit around and talk to him, like the old guys, and bash the young guys for not knowing what they’re doing. But Eddie was such a nice person and such a great person. He influenced so many people, not just by what he did in the ring but what he did outside the ring, because of who he was. Our world has really missed out by Eddie not being here."
Bradshaw is currently the interim host of Something to Wrestling while Bruce Pritchard deals with family matters. Prichard is also taking a break from WWE. Learn more here.
