John Cena and Grayson Waller will meet again on the September 15 episode of WWE SmackDown.
During the September 8 episode of WWE SmackDown, Grayson Waller joined the commentary team for Austin Theory's match with LA Knight. During the bout, WWE announced that John Cena will appear on The Grayson Waller Effect the following week.

Waller and Cena previously shared the ring at WWE Money in the Bank on July 1. There, Cena hyped up the London crowd and suggested that WrestleMania should come overseas. Waller interrupted, and tensions rose between the two stars. Cena then dropped Waller with an Attitude Adjustment. Since then, Waller has teased squaring off with Cena again, and now he'll get his chance.
Cena returned on the September 1 episode of WWE SmackDown. He also appeared at WWE Payback and wrestled at WWE Superstar Spectacle. Cena 's return marked the first of seven consecutive appearances on SmackDown for the 16-time world champion.
Update: WWE later announced that LA Knight will face The Miz on September 15. Knight defeated The Miz at WWE Payback in a match where John Cena was the special referee. The Miz then made it clear that he wanted a rematch, and on the September 8 episode of WWE SmackDown, Knight accepted.

WWE subsequently announced the September 15 episode of SmackDown was the place for the match.
