John Cena main evented WWE SummerSlam against Roman Reigns, but it was Brock Lesnar who stole the headlines.
Immediately after Reigns defeated Cena, the WWE Universal Champion was confronted by a returning Lesnar. After the show went off the air, Lesnar took Cena to suplex city.
Speaking to Dan Patrick on That Scene, Cena weighed in on SummerSlam and Brock's return.
"SummerSlam, the greatest sound to hear was certainly the interest. It's that buzz before the bell rings. They want you guys to take you on this ride and this story. Then, surprises at the end with Brock Lesnar coming out and no one knew what the hell was going on," he said. "Those are cool when you can surprise the audience because those are rare."
When asked about Brock's ponytail, Cena said, "I didn't notice the ponytail. I noticed that he was the size of two Brock Lesnar's. He looks mean and nasty no matter what. He's trying to stretch the boundaries of that to see what he can pull off. He's an anomaly. He's one of, if not the best ever."
Cena has previously called Lesnar the best in-ring performer of all time.
Despite showing up at SummerSlam, Lesnar was not on WWE TV the week after the event and it is unknown when he will return to WWE television.
