John Cena talks Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson on WWE's The Bump.
John Cena and The Rock's angle with one another carried WWE through three WrestleManias between 2011 and 2013.
While the issues between them were very personal on camera, Cena has admitted multiple times since then that he understood The Rock's perspective and everything between them was specifically to advance a wrestling storyline.
Cena expressed that viewpoint on WWE programming during a program on the October 4 episode of WWE's The Bump. However, Cena says his interaction with Johnson on the September 15 episode of WWE SmackDown was the first interaction they've had since
“In between the times we’ve spent with one another, I’ve openly come to a realization that the first foray into us competing against each other probably was a professional mistake on my part. I’ve been very apologetic and open with my apology, the way I conducted business was in the realm of trying to do good business. We did great business, and it was really nice to see a friend. He’s actually very generous with his time, we actually conversed a little bit. That was the first time we’ve seen each other since publicly apologizing for that and I just want to make sure he heard it from me face to face as well. It was really nice to see a friend,” said Cena.
Cena and Rock's appearance on September 15 drew strong ratings increases and strong numbers on social media.
John Cena's not done having issues with The Rock's bloodline, however. At WWE Fastlane, Cena will team with LA Knight against Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa. Fans can check out the full card here.
