John Morrison: Logan Paul Is Getting Help From Great Minds, He Would Fall Flat Without Them

Former WWE star John Morrison says Logan Paul would fall flat on his face without the people he has been working with.

Paul first started working with WWE on the road to WrestleMania 37 in 2021. He returned the following year and made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 38, where he and The Miz defeated Rey and Dominik Mysterio. Paul then signed with WWE and picked up a win in his first singles match when he clashed with The Miz at SummerSlam 2022. In his third match, Paul headlined WWE Crown Jewel 2022, where he unsuccessfully challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Paul was sidelined with an injury in the bout, but he was widely praised for his performance.

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on INSIGHT, Morrison shared his thoughts on Paul and recalled the way Paul claimed he tore his ACL and his MCL after WWE Crown Jewel, whereas the actual diagnosis was simply a torn MCL. Morrison noted that he's dealt with plenty of injuries himself. He also wondered why Paul doesn't talk about wrestling and shared his belief that, without the people that he's working with, "The Maverick" would fall flat on his face.

“Here’s what I think of Logan Paul. Man, remember when he had that match, and he said he completely blew out his knee. All three ligaments, his ACL, PCL, MCL, and then come to find out like, he just kind of had a sore knee. Oh, man, poor guy. I feel like he's had three matches, he's acting like, and a lot of people are acting like he's God's gift. And if he wanted to have, I've had close to 4000 matches. And I've torn both these for real, like no MCL, partially torn scope, scope, scope, partial ACL. If he wants to stay in the business and do it for real. Why doesn’t he talk about wrestling then? Because right now I think he's getting a lot of help from the best minds in the business and pretending like he's doing more of it than he is. Because without the help of the people surrounding, I think Logan Paul falls flat on his face," Morrison said.

When discussing Paul's first three matches with WWE, Morrison noted that he didn't know if anyone had their first three matches rehearsed as much as the "Impaulsive" host. He pointed out that Paul worked closely with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels and praised the legend's mind for the business. Morrison then stated that it was no wonder that Paul had an impressive performance, given his work with Michaels.

“I don't know if anyone's had their first three matches rehearsed as much as he's rehearsed his three matches either, especially like working one on one with Shawn Michaels. Who in the business can say that they worked for a month on one match with Shawn Michaels before they had that match. It's no wonder it was a great match. He's working with one of the best minds, best in-ring technicians and performers in the history of the business individually for a month for one match," Morrison said.

In the same interview, Morrison discussed potentially returning to WWE. Check out his comments here.
