Johnny Gargano is coming to Chicago on Sunday, but he promises it's not for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
On Wednesday's AEW Dynamite, Bryan Danielson announced that he could not compete at Forbidden Door or in Blood & Guts, but that he had a suitable replacement lined up. Some wondered if Johnny Gargano would be the man to replace Danielson, and while Gargano will be in Chicago on June 26, it's for a signing that was booked months ago.
Gargano took to social media to plug The Chicago Card Show presented by Midwest Sports Buffet, which is on June 26 from 9-3, and then noted that it was a coincidence and he'd only be in Chicago for eight hours. He also realized that not many people were going to believe him.
I promise you this is ridiculously coincidental and has been booked for months. I'll only be in Chicago for like 8 hours!

*I also realize in saying this that only like 5% of you are going to believe I'm actually telling the truth. --
Gargano is currently a free agent after his contract with WWE expired in December. He's taken time off from wrestling to spend time with his wife Candice LeRae and their newborn. It is unknown when he will return to the ring.
He is set for a stage show at Starrcast V.
