Jon Moxley discusses his AEW Full Gear bout.
At AEW Full Gear, Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega battled in an Unsanctioned Lights Out match that was unlike anything fans will likely see in any other top promotion. The match featured broken glass, a barbed wire spider web, an ice pick, a mousetrap board, and more. During the match, Moxley's wife Renee Young tweeted her concerns, writing, "Hi. Yes. Hello. I hate this. Seriously wtf."
Speaking to 101.1 WKQX, Moxley commented on Young's reaction.
"Over-dramatic. It comes with the territory. We're together forever. I will love you forever, but you gotta understand that if you're one of my friends or loved ones -- especially if you're my wife -- you're gonna deal with some moments where things get a little cringy and weird. I tend to fly close to the flame. Not just in wrestling, just in general in life. You're gonna have those moments. That's part of a marriage. I could roll my bike down a mountain tomorrow and break my neck. These things are constantly on the precipice of happening," he said.

In discussing the match, Moxley was thrilled with the result.
"You get a lot of 'Ohhh!' and 'Ahhh!' But it's a whole different thing of, 'no, no, no, no, no, ohhhh God!' That's so much more intense. I knew there was gonna be a lot of people that, that's not their [cup of tea]. I've never been offended or had any problem with anything I've watched in wrestling. And I've seen some gross, horrifying stuff. I've seen some stuff where I was like, 'Oh, God. Even I'm grossed out by that. But that's cool. I wish I would have thought of it.' If you don't have the stomach for that level of gratuity, then I'm not offended by it. We painted the painting we wanted to paint, exactly as we intended. But not everybody will want that painting in their living room. I was thrilled with the whole thing," he stated.
Moxley was victorious in the bout, putting Omega away with the Paradigm Shift on the exposed ring boards.
