JTG wants WWE to honor Shad Gaspard.
Shad Gaspard passed away tragically in 2020 after he went missing on May 17 of that year in Venice Beach, California, after he was pulled under by a rip current. Gaspard and his son were swimming when the riptide began and lifeguards rushed to rescue them. Gaspard asked lifeguards to save his son first and once they did, Gaspard was, unfortunately, pulled under. Following his passing, the wrestling world honored him with numerous tributes.
His tag partner, JTG, wants WWE to honor him as part of their Hall of Fame ceremony with the prestigious Warrior Award. JTG initially shared his feelings on the matter in November 2020, but in a new interview with Muscle Man Malcolm, JTG said that's definitely how he wants to see Shad honored by WWE.
"It would definitely have to be the Warrior Award. You know, Shad did a heroic act, you know, sacrificing his life for his son. But if it wasn't his son, if it was somebody else out there, he would probably do the same act. If it was me, he would've probably done it for me. Shad has always had this hero mindset. Years before that, he stopped the burglary at a gas station. Shad has always done something. He rescued or saved somebody. I remember one time at this club, some guy was getting into this girl's face and Shad put an end to that guy in front of them."
So far, The Undertaker, Vader, and Queen Sharmell have been announced as inductees. There has been no indication of who will be receiving The Warrior Award as of yet this year.
