Jun Akiyama: I Can Feel Eddie Kingston's Respect For The King's Road Style Through His Wrestling

Jun Akiyama has a lot of respect for Eddie Kingston.

If you know anything about Eddie Kingston, you know that the 'Mad King' is heavily influenced by international wrestling promotions such as All Japan Pro Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling. In the past, Kingston has spoken about how fighting DDT Star Jun Akiyama would be the highlight of his career.

In a new interview with Fanbyte, Akiyama paid his own respect to Kingston, noting that he can feel his respect for the 'King's Road Style' through his wrestling.

“I can feel the respect towards the King’s Road style through [Eddie Kingston’s] wrestling. His match with Takeshita was amazing.”

Although Akiyama influences quite a bit of today's wrestlers, the former KO-D Openweight Champion notes that he rarely watches American wrestling.

"I rarely watch matches across the pond, but recently I’ve began watching Takeshita doing his best over at AEW."
