"Who's next?" Justin Gaethje screamed.
The former and only WSOF Lightweight Champion made a successful UFC debut on Saturday night at the TUF Redemption Finale in Las Vegas. After weeks of trash talk from his opponent Michael Johnson, Gaethje was able to stop the #5 ranked UFC Lightweight.
The battle was an intense, back and forth battle that saw both men nearly finish the other. Ultimately, Gaethje was able to weather the storm and emerged victorious. You can see an excerpt of our Fightful live coverage below.
Round Two: The round begins with Johnson jabbing away against Gaethje, Gaethje starts attacking Johnson with some leg kicks. Gaethje comes forward and just swings away at Johnson, Johnson catches Gaethje with a left hook to the midsection. Johnson rocks a swinging Gaethje with a counter right from out of nowhere, Johnson gets Gaethje against the cage wall while landing a combination. Gaethje creates space by cracking Johnson with a knee strike, Johnson starts working the midsection of Gaethje. Gaethje goes back to attacking Johnson with some leg kicks, Johnson catches Gaethje with a step in knee strike. Johnson comes forward and he cracks Gaethje with a few lefts, Gaethje cracks a swinging Johnson with an uppercut. Gaethje rocks Johnson with a series of follow up uppercuts, Gaethje briefly drops Johnson with an elbow strike to the head. Johnson starts hunting for takedowns and Gaethje stuffs them all, Gaethje then cracks Johnson with a flying knee strike. Gaethje drops Johnson with a combination and the referee jumps in.
