Kamille Feels Wrongfully Omitted From Discussions About The Best Active Women's Wrestlers

Kamille wants to put some respect on her name as her reign with the NWA Women's World Championship continues.

Kamille has been the NWA Women's World Champion since June 6, 2021, when she captured the title by defeating Serena Deeb at NWA When Our Shadows Fall. Since that time, she defeated names like Chelsea Green, Taya Valkyrie, and more. Now, in an interview with Andrew Thompson of POST Wrestling, she is speaking about transitioning from a bodyguard to a professional wrestler once again and feeling slighted when it comes to the conversation of the best women's wrestlers in the industry today.

“So I think it was a great way to kind of dip my toe back into wrestling because when I came back, there was a period of time where I thought I was pretty much fine wrestling," said Kamille. "But I started to miss a little bit, and so that opportunity came up, and the fact that I wasn’t gonna be an in-ring performer was actually a good way to come back into the business. So we didn’t know if I would ever end up wrestling for the NWA or not, what direction it would take, and it just organically kinda went that way. One day, Billy was like, ‘Hey, we wanna invest in you as an in-ring performer.’ So that’s what happened, and it’s a blessing and a curse in a way. I don’t think that I would have gotten back into it if I was initially just thrown into the fire and had to go into the ring right away.

"Like I said, it was a great way to dip my toe back in," she continued. "But also, I’m not ever in the talks, even though I’m the longest-reigning champion right now there is, with the Deonna Purrazzos, Thunder Rosa, Taya, even though I’ve literally beat all those people. Is that because I came onto the scene as just a manager? I don’t know. So that’s also an interesting kind of thing to think about, and people need to realize okay, I am a wrestler now and a very legit one at that."

Kamille further cemented her legacy at NWA 74. On the first night of the anniversary celebration, she headlined the event in a hard-fought match against Taya Valkyrie. On the second night, she defeated “The Non-Binary Nightmare” Max the Impaler, furthering her reign as NWA Women's World Champion.
