Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes came face-to-face on the November 22nd episode of WWE SmackDown, with both men giving their side of the story over what has transpired since WWE Bad Blood.
Owens explained that for four years he fought the Bloodline and Roman Reigns every week, and Roman tried to end his career, "but he never could and he never will." Owens said he kept fighting and he fought alongside Cody at WrestleMania 39 and WrestleMania XL. Owens explained that he was upset that when Roman needed a partner, Cody was the one who teamed with him. "Everything that happened is your fault."
Cody said if Owens wanted to justify things because Cody teamed with Roman, he was fine with that. Cody believes that Owens has to make himself the victim and the only person who holds Kevin Owens down is Kevin Owens. Cody said that Owens likes to self-sabotage, and then commended him for all of his accomplishments.
Cody brought up WWE Bash in the Berlin when Owens couldn't pull the trigger despite Cody's knee injury. Cody said that Owens finally pulled the trigger, just on the wrong guy, referencing Orton. Cody said that Owens crossed the line when he hit a piledriver on Orton.
Cody said that he was going to beat the lesson into Kevin Owens, whether it be at WWE Survivor Series or WWE Saturday Night's Main Event.
Owens said Cody would get his match, but it would be on Owens' terms. Owens admitted he crossed the line with Orton, "but I love Randy Orton. You. I hate you."
Cody stated that he doesn't believe Owens hates him, he thinks Owens hates himself. "When we do have this match, there is not a single line I won't cross either."

On the November 15th episode of WWE SmackDown, Rhodes called out Owens to open WWE SmackDown, but was greeted by WWE SmackDown GM Nick Aldis, who said Owens wasn't there and the matter was being dealt with internally. In a social media video, Owens said he was being punished for doing his job.
Owens hit a piledriver on Orton the November 8th episode of WWE SmackDown, leading to Orton being taken out on a stretcher. He is out indefinitely.
Owens attacked Cody in the parking lot after WWE Bad Blood.
