Karl Anderson provides an update on the contract status of the Good Brothers.
Fightful Select reported on August 21 that the Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) would remain with IMPACT Wrestling through August before heading to New Japan Pro-Wrestling. The report noted, "We'd heard in the past they'd agreed to do some work with New Japan Pro Wrestling through the 2023 Wrestle Kingdom shows."
Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Anderson confirmed the Good Brothers' obligations to NJPW when asked about a potential WWE return.
"Just like you said, never say never," he said regarding the possibility of returning to WWE to team with AJ Styles or Finn Balor. "We’ve got verbally agreed upon dates with New Japan Pro-Wrestling for an extended period of time. But there’s such a built-in story with Bullet Club, and we never got to finish the story [in WWE] with AJ Styles or even Finn. There’s been a lot of things that have happened in the business, so you can never say never. Any time we can work with brothers like AJ and Finn, we’re always going to listen to that."
The Good Brothers' last IMPACT match aired on the September 15 episode of IMPACT Wrestling. The duo lost to The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin).
When asked if he anticipates being on the NJPW New York shows in October, Anderson replied, "I anticipated being on the New York show, but our schedule has gotten crazy. We are spending more time than we anticipated next month in Japan. I don’t know if the schedule or timing will work out this time because our schedule insanely picked up, but we plan on being in the U.S. for all the big shows."
Anderson is currently in Japan and will defend his NEVER Openweight Championship against Hiroshi Tanahashi on the September 25 Burning Spirit event.
