Kay Lee Ray is still in awe of her relationship with Shawn Michaels and Triple H and their role in NXT UK.
NXT UK resumed airing new episodes earlier this month inside BT Sport Studios in London, England. As part of this new beginning, Shawn Michaels has been overseeing the episodes from the United States due to the travel ban because of the global coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking to talkSPORT, NXT UK Women's Champion Kay Lee Ray describes what it's been like to have Shawn Michaels as “the voice of God” coming over a loudspeaker at the tapings and just how much HBK devotes himself to NXT UK.
“At the tapings, Shawn was the voice of God with his voice over the monitor,” she joked. “For a moment, you forgot like oh my god, they’re watching us. But then you do something and you hear them [laughs]. To be trusted and be put in the position I am is incredible. It still doesn’t really hit home that Shawn Michaels is the dad of NXT UK really! It means a lot.”
Kay Lee Ray would go on to describe just how influential D-Generation X was to her during her childhood.
“When I first started watching wrestling, how could I not get drawn in by DX and everything they did? Shawn Michaels was one of my favorites from the very beginning so now that I have him say ‘you did a good job’ it’s still a bit unbelievable.”
