Kazuchika Okada and Will Ospreay have advanced to the next stage of the NJPW G1 Climax 33 tournament, coming out of B Block as the top two competitors in the standings.

Okada finished block action with a 6-1 (12 points) record after defeating Tanga Loa on the final night of block competition on August 6. His only loss during the round robin portion of the tournament was to Ospreay.

Ospreay secured his spot by defeating El Phantasmo to finish at 5-2 (10 points). Has ELP won, he would have advanced as a victory over Ospreay would have meant he held the tie breaker despite both men having a 4-3 (8 points) record.

Ospreay's losses in round robin action were to Loa and Taichi.

Okada will face the D Block runner up while Ospreay faces the winner of C Block.
