Kelani Jordan made history at WWE NXT Battleground when she became the inaugural WWE NXT Women's North American Champion. Then, she made even more history on the June 18 WWE NXT when she successfully defended the title for the first time against Michin. However, it was not without controversy.
Michin was in control of the bout when she was pushed off the top rope by Jaida Parker as the referee was distracted by the presence of Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Lucien Price, and Bronco Nima. That allowed Jordan to hit the Split-Legged Moonsault for three.

It is not known who will face Jordan for the championship next.
