Northeast Wrestling is delivering a dream match on Nov. 9.
On Tuesday, Sept. 18, Northeast Wrestling announced that IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega will make a rare US appearance at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center for the company. Today, PWInsider reports that Omega will face Fenix at the event.
Omega defeated Fenix's brother, Pentagon Jr., at All In on Sept. 1. The story heading into the match is that Fenix will be looking to avenge the loss of his Lucha Brother. Fenix took part in the main event at All In, teaming with Bandido and Rey Mysterio in a losing effort against The Young Bucks and Kota Ibushi.
Omega typically keeps his US dates constricted to NJPW and ROH. He wrestled at the WrestleCon Super Show in New Orleans on April 5, 2018. Prior to that, his last non-NJPW or ROH US date was for PWG on Sept. 2 of last year, teaming with The Young Bucks to face Flamita, Pentagon Jr., and Fenix. That bout marks the only other time Omega and Fenix have shared the ring together.
Along with the bout between Omega and Fenix, Rob Van Dam has also been announced for the show. Tickets for the Nov. 9 show go on sale Friday, Sept. 21.
