Omega has been sidelined since December 2023 after being diagnosed with diverticulitis and undergoing surgery. Omega was last seen live on AEW TV on the May 1st episode of AEW Dynamite when he was attacked by The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson), Kazuchika Okada, and Jack Perry. He was shown on video from a hospital bed a week later.
Omega is set to face Gabe Kidd at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty on January 5.
