Kenny Omega Says Matt Riddle "Embodies New Strong Style"

Kenny Omega believes Matt Riddle could do well in New Japan.

During a conference call to promote the G1 Special, Kenny Omega fielded questions from professional wrestling media including independent wrestling talent he would like to see in New Japan Pro Wrestling. He named Jeff Cobb who was supposed to make his debit in the Tag League tournament but did not make his NJPW debut until this past week. Omega said he was excited to see what Cobb could accomplish in the promotion but he also mentioned Cobb's Chosen Bros tag team partner Matt Riddle.

"He's already gonna be coming into New Japan and doing a little bit of work but I'm really looking forward to seeing how Jeff Cobb does. I know that due to complications he wasn't able to make a debut," said Omega. " I feel like someone like Matt Riddle a very successful career in New Japan. He embodies the new strong style that we are searching for in New Japan that not really foreigners are using. It is cool for him to be the foreign Shibata. I'd love to see him come to New Japan and do well," he continued.
