KENTA Joins Bullet Club, Katsuyori Shibata Gets Involved In Post-Match Angle At NJPW G1 29 Finals

KENTA and Shibata clash.

Tama Tonga promised a new member of Bullet Club, and he delivered at the G1 Climax 29 Finals, revealing that KENTA has joined the group. Tonga teamed with Bad Luck Fale and Tanga Loa to take on Tomohiro Ishii, YOSH-HASHI, and KENTA in six-man tag team action at the event. In the middle of the match, KENTA dropped off the apron, turning his back on his teammates before attacking them. KENTA would hit the Go 2 Sleep on Ishii, allowing Bullet Club to pick up the victory.

That wasn't even the biggest story coming out of the match as following the turn, Katsuyori Shibata hit the ring and decimated KENTA, blowing the roof off Nippon Budokan.

Unfortunately, the numbers game caught up to Shibata, and he was left laying, with KENTA posing on top of his prone body as Bullet Club surrounded him.

Shibata hasn't wrestled since April 2017 due to a subdural hematoma. It was widely reported that his in-ring career was over and he has since transitioned into a full-time coach at the NJPW LA Dojo. It remains to be seen if he will return to the ring following this angle.
