Kevin Owens is the "new, true WWE Champion," according to Kevin Owens.
Though Owens did not defeat Cody Rhodes at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, he did walk away with the Winged Eagle Championship after delivering a package piledriver to Rhodes. Rhodes was taken out on a stretcher while Owens took the Winged Eagle Title.
On social media, Owens announced himself for upcoming WWE live events and is calling himself the "new, true WWE Champion."

WWE announced that Rhodes has been diagnosed with an "axial compression of the cervical spine, as well as a cervical strain with spasm."
It is unknown when he will return to television.
