Kevin Owens showed so remorse for his actions, apologizing to Ricky on social media.
Ricky was Owens' tag team partner on WWE SmackDown, until Randy Orton showed up. Once Orton showed up to team with Owens against A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller), Owens hit a stunner on Ricky.
Owens noted that Ricky wasn't his first choice, but Orton had travel issues, and he wasn't sure he would make it.
