Kid Lykos II: Wrestling In Super Strong Style 16 Felt Like A Huge Accomplishment

Kid Lykos II reflects on competing in Super Strong Style 16.

During the 2024 tournament, Kid Lykos II would look to replicate what his tag team partner did in 2023 and win the Super Strong Style 16 tournament. Unfortunately for Lykos II, he would come up short in the Quarter Finals, being eliminated by eventual winner Luke Jacobs.

While speaking to Progress in a recent interview earlier this week, Lykos II was asked about his entry into the tournament, remarking that he feels like he achieved something 'huge' by competing.

“Wrestling in strong style felt like a huge accomplishment. But not making the finals didn’t feel like that. I’m proud of my performance and couldn’t be any more thankful for all the support that was shown to me, but I’m also disappointed.”

Lykos II was then asked if Jacobs' attacking his partner, Kid Lykos, on the first night of Super Strong Style 16 weekend effected him heading into their quarter final bout.

“I was told my best friend was jumped by someone who I considered to be one of my best friends. That’s enough to mess with anyone’s head. I went into that match motivated to take Luke out of that tournament and try to knock some sense into him but ultimately failed.”

Lykos II will look to move forward at Progress: The Devil On My Shoulder later this month, where he will face off with Man Like Dereiss in singles action.
