Kofi Kingston discusses his tag team partner history.
The current WWE Champion is one of the most decorated tag team wrestlers ever. Kofi Kingston is an 8-time tag team champion, winning titles with CM Punk, R-Truth, Evan Bourne, and his New Day brothers Big E & Xavier Woods. Combining his eight reigns, Kofi has held one-half of the Tag Team Titles more than any other WWE superstar in history.
Speaking to ACWrestling, Kofi discussed the positives of each of his former partners.
"I was Tag Team Champions with CM Punk, which was awesome because I learned so much from him. He was one of the guys who took me under his wing when he didn't have to. I was always grateful for that friendship. Being tag team partners with R-Truth is always fun. He's always making you laugh. Every moment we had together was always fun. Evan Bourne, same thing. Super cool and athletic. We would try to out-do each other. It was an awesome experience to see him up-close-and-personal. I can't possibly pick a favorite."
Kingston remains part of New Day but is currently thriving as WWE Champion. He is scheduled to defend his title against Dolph Ziggler this Sunday at WWE Stomping Grounds.
